īm (ج) is the seventh letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is a consonant sound that is pronounced by creating a closure in the vocal tract and then releasing it with a burst of air, producing a voiced velar plosive sound. In modern standard Arabic, it is pronounced as a voiced palatal stop.

The letter Jīm is written in the Arabic script as a vertical stroke with a small curved tail extending to the left. It is written from right to left, like all Arabic letters.

Jīm is used in a variety of words in Arabic, including nouns, verbs, and adjectives. It is an essential letter for the correct pronunciation of many Arabic words. In Arabic calligraphy, the letter Jīm is often used in the design of calligraphic scripts and can be seen in many beautiful examples of Arabic calligraphy art.
