The Kaaba -  ٱلْكَعْبَة‎

The Kaaba, also known as the House of God or Baitullah, is a cuboid-shaped building located in the city of Mecca, in the western region of Saudi Arabia. It is the holiest site in Islam and is considered the direction towards which Muslims around the world face during their daily prayers.

According to Islamic tradition, the Kaaba was built by the Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael as a house of worship for the one true God. Muslims believe that the Kaaba was first built as a shrine for God alone and has been rebuilt and renovated several times throughout history.

The Kaaba is covered with a black silk and gold curtain called the kiswah, which is replaced annually during the Hajj pilgrimage. It is also surrounded by a large open-air mosque called Masjid al-Haram, which can accommodate millions of worshippers during Hajj and Umrah, the two annual Islamic pilgrimages.

The Kaaba is a symbol of unity for Muslims around the world, and its significance dates back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad, who declared it as the holiest site in Islam. The pilgrimage to the Kaaba is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a spiritual journey for Muslims seeking forgiveness and blessings from God.
