Fā (ف) is the eighteenth letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is a consonant sound that is pronounced by bringing the lower lip in contact with the upper teeth and emitting a voiceless, fricative sound. In modern standard Arabic, it is pronounced as a voiceless labiodental fricative sound.
The letter Fā is written in the Arabic script as a short vertical stroke with a horizontal line extending from the top right. It is written from right to left, like all Arabic letters.
Fā is used in a variety of words in Arabic, including nouns, verbs, and adjectives. It is an essential letter for the correct pronunciation of many Arabic words.
